Hi Jiazhi, I found that ccp4i2 worked after deleting my local Python3.9 library and before re-installing Xquartz.
Thank you for bringing Xquartz to my attention; I had overlooked that it needed to be replaced, too. It turns out install XQuarts and grants it full access perfectly solved the issue. Again, appreciate your kind suggestions! I, too, have a new m4 Mac with OS 15.2 Sequoia. I had installed ccp4-9 two days ago, but only checked that mtzdump ran in the terminal (it did). I had not checked ccp4i. I can confirm some trouble similar to yours. Some of my troubles were created by transferring code from my old Intel Mac and are not the fault of the CCP4 developers. I cannot fire up ccp4i in the terminal by entering ccp4i. However, I can run `mtzdump` and `acorn` in the terminal. This is strange because they also reside in /Applications/ccp4-9.0/ccp4-9/bin with ccp4i. I can fire up the ccp4i GUI by entering the full path in the terminal: /Applications/ccp4-9.0/ccp4-9/bin/ccp4i. By terminal, I mean iterm2. With ccp4i2, which was recognized in my terminal, it tries to tap into my local library of Pyton3.9 code (in ~/Library/Python/3.9). It tries to import some Cython libraries from my six-year-old Intel chip Mac. I need to delete Python3.9 library and reinstall Python3.9 with home brew or macports. I noticed that I also have Python3.9 in anaconda. I had transferred anaconda from my Intel Mac I need to delete anaconda, reinstall anaconda, and rebuild the envs. This is the bottom of the error message that I received when trying to start ccp4i2: ImportError: dlopen(/Users/blaine/Library/Python/3.9/lib/python/site-packages/_cffi_backend.cpython-39-darwin.so, 0x0002): tried: '/Users/blaine/Library/Python/3.9/lib/python/site-packages/_cffi_backend.cpython-39-darwin.so' (mach-o file, but is an incompatible architecture (have 'x86_64', need 'arm64e' or 'arm64')), '/System/Volumes/Preboot/Cryptexes/OS/Users/blaine/Library/Python/3.9/lib/python/site-packages/_cffi_backend.cpython-39-darwin.so' (no such file), '/Users/blaine/Library/Python/3.9/lib/python/site-packages/_cffi_backend.cpython-39-darwin.so' (mach-o file, but is an incompatible architecture (have 'x86_64', need 'arm64e' or 'arm64')) Best regards, Blaine Blaine Mooers, Ph.D. Associate Professor Department of Biochemistry and Physiology College of Medicine University of Oklahoma Health Sciences S.L. You may want to contact specifically the CCP4 core team and they should be able to help. They may not have seen you email on the ccp4BB as we were at the study weekend the past 3 days. You can contact me off list if you don't manage to get a contact with CCP4 team. Cheers, Arnaud On 09/01/2025 17:19, Tang, Jiazhi wrote: ⚠ External sender. But when I tried to download newest ccp4 version and run it, it doesn't work. Ccp4, ccp4 cloud local and ccp4i2 all can not be oponed. Does anyone know how to access this issue? Really appreciate any generous help!
