Electron Bio-Imaging Centre at Diamond Light Source Ltd has a postdoctoral 
position available for development of novel concepts and software tools for

eBIC is the UK national centre for cryoEM data acquisition, providing free of 
charge access to the-state-of-the-art instruments for the UK and international 
academic users. In collaboration with other scientists, we strive to develop 
efficient on-the-fly data processing pipelines for user benefit 
(https://www.diamond.ac.uk/Instruments/Biological-Cryo-Imaging/eBIC.html). eBIC 
is part of Diamond Light Source Ltd (Diamond)- the UK national synchrotron 
radiation source (https://www.diamond.ac.uk/Home.html), located in 
collaboration stimulating scientific environment of Harwell Science and 
Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire, UK

The work on this project will be carried out in close collaboration with 
Diamond data analysis group, STFC Scientific Machine learning, and CCPEM 
groups. It will complement and enhance the work undertaken as part of the 
recently awarded pan-European INFRAtech fragment screening and automation grant 
aimed at super-charging structure led drug discovery.

 About You

You should have a PhD degree or equivalent and have experience in algorithm 
design and programming for scientific data analysis.

You will need to demonstrate a track record in conducting high quality original 
research. Knowledge and research experience in using statistical methods and 
machine learning for data analysis are essential. Experience with image 
processing and cryoEM/ET data analysis is desirable but not strictly necessary.
