Job description Two staff scientist positions for experienced researchers are open in the Zoll lab at IOCB Prague. The group focuses on understanding the structural basis of interactions between parasite surface proteins with human host factors to elucidate immune defence strategies of the parasite and foster the development of novel therapeutic strategies against neglected diseases. Position #1: Structure determination and Computational Design We are seeking a highly skilled researcher for this position with expertise in either cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) or macromolecular modeling and computational protein design using Rosetta. For cryo-EM, the ideal candidate should possess excellent skills in grid-preparation, data processing (using Relion and cryo-SPARC), and microscope operation (200 and 300 kEV, optional). Proficiency in Linux workstations (usage and administration) is mandatory for both positions. Position #2: Protein Biochemist/Biophysical Interaction Specialist We are looking for a competent protein biochemist, preferably with a background in structural biology, for recombinant protein production and purification and years of experience in this field. Alternatively, we welcome candidates with extensive experience in various biophysical interaction techniques such as SPR, BLI, ITC, and related methods. Familiarity with membrane proteins would be an added advantage for either of the positions. Good English oral and written communication skills are mandatory. German and/or Czech skills will be a plus. Both positions are available for a 3-year contract with a probation period of 6 months. The exact salary will be determined based on the level of experience and is negotiable. How to apply?
