Good day The Huber group is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Scientist to join us at the Centre for Medicines Discovery, at the Nuffield Department of Medicine, to work on an exciting translational anticancer research project located at the interface between academia and industry.
You will be responsible for establishing efficient expression and purification systems of RNA modifying enzymes, and help unravel the molecular mechanisms of substrate recognition and allosteric regulation by co-crystallization of chemical fragments/ligands, substrates or complex partners. You will develop biochemical assays and study the interaction of lead compounds with these protein interaction domains and help understand the SAR (structure activity relationship) of compound classes with the goal to develop highly selective first- in-class chemical probes. You will supervise junior and technical staff, while also coordinating this project with other internal and external partners and provide progress reports. You will be responsible for contributing to the scientific output by publishing high quality manuscripts and by representing the group at international scientific meetings. This position is offered full time on a fixed term contract for 12 months, and is funded by DBT.
