Dear All Please find the details below for a postdoctoral position in the Weiss/Takagi labs:
All the best Yuro Yuichiro H. Takagi, Ph.D. Associate Professor Scientific director of cryo-EM Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Indiana University School of Medicine https://twitter.com/LabTakagi ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Postdoctoral opportunity for structure studies of the insulin analogues - insulin receptor complex by cryo-EM at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN USA We invite applications for a post-doctoral position, funded by the NIH and Helmsley Charitable Trust, focusing on cryo-EM studies of how insulin analogs bind to the insulin receptor at the laboratory of Dr. Michael A. Weiss at Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM). This project is in collaboration with the lab of Dr. Yuichiro Takagi at IUSM. Analogs include ultra-stable and glucose-responsive insulin variants of clinical interest – please see our latest publication in this subject: https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.2103518118 The Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) has an EM Core with 200 kV Glacios cryo-EM with Falcon 4 camera and shared access to a 300 kV Titan Krios G4 with K3 camera, located at Purdue University as part of a regional consortium. The post-doctoral fellow will be part of a multidisciplinary team including synthetic peptide chemists and cell biologists engaged in insulin research with translational application to the improved treatment of diabetes mellitus. A PhD in structural biology or computation protein chemistry is required. Prior experience with cryo-EM is preferred but not required. We will provide an extensive in-house cryo-EM training. IUSM provides a diverse international community and welcomes applications from scientists of diverse backgrounds, cultures, nationalities and genders. Non-US Citizens will require an appropriate Visa for employment in the United State. If interested, please submit Curriculum Vitae (CV), letter of introduction and names of three referees (including prior or current laboratory mentors) via the link below: https://indiana.peopleadmin.com/postings/12738 If you have any question, please contact Drs.
