He has an AB in Physics from Harvard, a PhD in Molecular Biology from UCLA under David Eisenberg, was a Helen Hay Whitney Fellow at Berkeley with Daniel Koshland, Jr. and a Presidential Young Investigator at the University of Chicago. He is now a Laboratory Fellow at Los Alamos National Laboratory and a Senior Scientist at the New Mexico Consortium.
