A postdoctoral research associate position with competitive salary and benefit is available in Dr. Limei Zhang’s group for highly motivated candidates who are interested in structural biology, redox biology and/or infectious disease. The Zhang Group applies a suite of interdisciplinary tools to investigate the structure-mechanism relationships of proteins in redox reactions, stress responses and antibiotic resistance, with funding support from NSF and NIH. For more information about the Zhang Group, please visit the website: https://biochem.unl.edu/limei-zhang. Job responsibility: We seek a postdoc to investigate the roles and underlying mechanism of metalloproteins in redox stress response and antibiotic resistance. The duties of the postdoctoral fellow include independently design and conduct high-quality research experiments for the assigned project under the supervisor’s guidance; analyze data and draft manuscripts for publication; take roles in the lab maintenance with other group members; and assist the supervisor to mentor undergraduate and graduate students. Qualification: The required qualifications include a recent Ph.D. degree (or expected soon) in biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, microbiology or a related field; a strong record in conducting high-quality research. Preferred qualifications include expertise in either biophysics, protein biochemistry or advanced molecular biology; excellent communication skills; ability to work cooperatively on multidisciplinary projects; and experience in mentoring. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is located in a vibrant and safe city offering an outstanding and affordable quality of life, and numerous multi-cultural and entertainment benefits. The Redox Biology Center is organized as a broad-based interdisciplinary and multi-institutional entity involving researchers from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, and offers a supportive and collaborative international environment as well as access to cutting edge proteomics, metabolomics, crystallography, and NMR facilities. Recognizing that diversity within a context of inclusivity enhances creativity, innovation, impact, and a sense of belonging, the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) and the Department of Biochemistry are committed to creating learning, research, Extension programming, and work environments that are inclusive of all forms of human diversity. We actively encourage applications from and nominations of individuals from underrepresented groups. To apply for the position, please submit a letter of interest with a short summary of past research experience; your curriculum vitae, and contact information for three professional references, including phone numbers and emails to limei.zh...@unl.edu As an EO/AA employer, qualified applicants are considered for employment without regard to race, color, ethnicity, national origin, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability, age, genetic information, veteran status, marital status, and/or political affiliation.
