We have various openings from talented Technicians to Senior Scientists to strengthen our protein crystallization team in Suzhou. We are looking for protein crystallographers to prepare protein samples for crystallization and develop strategies for the optimization of protein crystals that are relevant in drug discovery in the pharmaceutical industry. Qualified candidates will also be involved in computational crystallography and structure determination. As a successful candidate you have hands-on experience with protein purification and handling and have a good understanding of the requirements for a successful crystallization of proteins and protein complexes. Experience with the crystallization of membrane proteins is a plus. You are familiar with state-of-the-art liquid handling robotics in protein crystallization as well as mounting of protein crystals and collecting x-ray diffraction data on in house or synchrotron radiation sources. The successful candidates will work in an international and highly collaborative environment. You will interact closely both with the protein purification groups in Suzhou and Munich/Germany as well as the HitS teams at our Shanghai facilities. Requirements include, depending on the position you are applying for: l PhD in Structural Biology, Biochemistry or Biophysics, with expertise in protein X-ray crystallography, or Master’s degree with extensive Structural Biology experience. l Demonstrated track record of achievement through publications and PDB depositions. l Hands-on experience and knowledge of state-of-the-art protein crystallography techniques including all aspects of gene-to-structure process. l Experience in protein characterization by modern biophysical techniques is a plus. l Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese preferred. l Ability to multi-task and deliver results in a timely manner are essential.
