Dear Colleagues: I am happy to announce that Rutgers New Jersey Medical School is recruiting for a tenure track position in the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of cryo-electron microscopy as part of a multi-position search. We are particularly interested in innovative research proposals that utilize cryo-electron microscopy modalities including single-particle, tomography, subtomogram averaging, focused ion beam milling, correlative microscopy, and electron diffraction.
Rutgers New Jersey Medical School is located in Newark, New Jersey, 20 min away from New York City. The Rutgers CryoEM & Nanoimaging Facility, located in Piscataway, New Jersey, provides access to cryoEM and cryoET instrumentation, including a 200kV Talos Arctica microscope, an Aquilos 2 FIB-SEM microscope, and a Leica cryo-CLEM system. A screening facility at the Newark campus that will house a 120kV Talos L120C microscope equipped with speed-enhanced Ceta camera and sample preparation equipment will be operational in Q2 2021. The successful candidate will hold an appointment in the Department of Microbiology, Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics. Joint appointments with additional departments and centers will also be considered on a per case basis. Qualified candidates must have a doctoral degree (MD, PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent), outstanding academic credentials and a demonstrated ability to obtain extramural funding.
