Hi,
it is my understanding that Quad-buffered Stereo is far from dead and
will continue to work, at least according to this NVIDIA FAQ page:
https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4845
I was pretty relieved when I learned of that. I would be devastated
without the option to build my structures in 3D. I am running a recent
NVIDIA driver (455.38) in a Linux environment, and the 3D Stereo is
working fine in Coot, Pymol, and Chimera. I use pretty basic graphic
adaptors (K420/620) and ASUS monitors with built-in stereo emitters. The
monitors can be hard to come by nowadays. I got mine via eBay.
I hence think that sticking to NVIDIA Stereo is still the best option.
Best wishes,
Joern

Dear all,
I am wondering, if anyone has experience with implementing stereo 3D
setup with currently available hardware. NVIDIA 3D vision seems to be
pretty much dead.
The primary usage would be model building in Coot, but also potentially
Pymol analysis.
The biggest issue is an access to controls. We played a bit with PS VR,
VR solutions prsented last year at CCP4 weekend seem to be still far
from usable.
Did anyone try AR?
Best regards,
Jan
