The project focuses on two medically relevant cell-surface receptors and their multifaceted interactions in inflammation and cancer. The group seeks for a post-doctoral researcher for 3D structure determination of protein-protein and protein-ligand complexes enabling rational development of anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer agents as well as improved tools for imaging inflammation. Our laboratory has state-of-the-art facilities for protein purification, crystallization, imaging and in situ X-ray diffraction of crystals, and computational resources for structural biology and bioinformatics (https://www.abo.fi/en/structural-bioinformatics-laboratory/). Applicants are expected to have: (1) PhD degree, (2) demonstrated competency in protein expression and purification strategies using bacterial, insect, and mammalian hosts, (3) expertise in protein crystallization, X-ray structure determination and structural analysis, (4) experience in biophysical methods for analysis of protein interactions, and (5) willingness to work as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
