Dear all,
MAX IV in Lund, Sweden has opened the call to receive proposals requesting
beamtime at BioMAX for the period September 2020 - August 2021 for Fragment
Screening proposals using FragMAX platform.

To submit a new proposal, please visit this page:
https://www.maxiv.lu.se/users/proposal-calls/longterm-calls-and-programs/

FragMAX currently accepts user groups as a collaboration between users and
FragMAX team, aiming to deliver high-quality project support and data analysis.
Users will benefit from the highly automated beamline, BioMAX, and an in-house
developed platform for data analysis, the FragMAXapp. We are also developing
our fragment library, FragMAXlib, that will be provided to the users free of
charge, as well as support for user’s libraries.

FragMAX proposals will be scheduled in the next longterm cycle, from 2020-09 to
2021-08, with support for follow-up projects/visits.

The BioMAX beamline is under continuous commissioning and will offer the
following features during the next user period (Features below are fragment
screening projects oriented. For a full description of BioMAX features, please
check https://www.maxiv.lu.se/biomax ):

• Variable beam focus down to 20x5 µm^2 at the sample position at full photon
flux (can be further reduced by apertures down to 5x5 µm^2)
• 2 x 10^13 Phot/sec at 250 mA ring filling at the sample position
        • Standard exposure time 11 msec/frame, corresponding to 10-60%
transmission
• Tuneable energy range 5-20 keV, with support for helical scan mode
• Sample changer operation using Uni-pucks, < 25 sec sample exchange time
• Eiger 16M hybrid pixel detector 130 Hz frame rate for 16M mode
• MD3-micro diffractometer, 150 nm sphere-of-confusion for micro-crystal
centring
• MXCuBE3 experiment control software & ISPyB database support
• FragMAXapp data analysis pipeline
• Offline remote access for manual data processing
• >1000 core HPC environment available online and offline access
• Sample preparation laboratory for crystal handling
        • S1 bio-safety level bio-laboratory in close vicinity
