Great! It now works as expected.

Dear Jerome,
I've just updated the Mac 2.10.11 package at

http://www.ccp4.ac.uk/MG/download-2.10.11/

Rendering now works in this version for me. You will have to delete old version
and download again.

The "good" news is that I just tried rendering with a newly installed 2.10.11
and that fails to save a file. I might be getting somewhere.

Dear Jerome,
Oh dear, that all looks horrible and I have no idea what it means, but it's
possibly a Catalina security thing or something. I've only tried 2.10.10
myself, I'll try installing 2.10.11 now. (I know you have done both).

Then I think my next suggestion is to run the following command in a Terminal
window and copy the output into an email to see if we can understand why the
image files are not being written when you attempt to render.

/Applications/QtMG.app/Contents/MacOS/QtMG -norestore

Hi Stuart,
I am using a 2017 Mac book pro with Radeon Pro 560 and Intel HD Graphics 630.
The initial CCP4MG (installed before I upgraded to Catalina) had this problem,
so I updated CCP4MG to v2.10.11 on Catalina, which did not fix the problem.

Dear Jerome,
Jon Agirre has pointed to me out you wrote "render" not "screenshot", which
will be independent of graphics chip. Thank you, Jon!

However, I just tried render and that seems to work as well.

Did you install CCP4MG before or after upgrading to Catalina? Or was this a new
computer onto which you've installed CCP4MG? I guess write permissions may vary
in the various cases.

Best wishes,
Stuart

Dear Jerome,
It is entirely possible that this is a Catalina problem. I do not have a
Catalina machine and hence have not tested CCP4MG on Catalina. I will install
Catalina on one of my computers right away and see if I get the same problem.
It may also depend on what graphics chip you have in your computer. We'll
determine if that is important once I have upgraded.

Best wishes,
Stuart

Hi all,
When I render images and try to save them, CCP4MG writes a status file, but

I have tried the two latest versions of CCP4MG. Could it be because I’m using
macOS Catalina (version 10.15.1) ?
