Hello again, To be more specific- sometimes when Coot crashes, I can just restart Coot. Sometimes it locks my whole machine (maybe 30% of the time) and I need to reboot. The former is just a small pain, the latter is a true pain and I prefer software not to crash the machine in such an untidy way.

No debugging I'm currently using Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS and I think I'm reasonably up to date wrt updates...
