The Lieberman lab in the School of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA invites applications for Postdoctoral Fellows. Our research projects focus on molecular aspects of protein misfolding in one of two systems related to human disease. Our interdisciplinary lab combines biochemical, biophysical, and cell biology methods with structural biology approaches (X-ray crystallography, small angle X-ray or neutron scattering, NMR, cryoEM). We seek to better understand what differentiates diseased proteins from their wild-type counterparts, and use this information to develop new diagnostics and therapies. More information is available on our website http://ww2.chemistry.gatech.edu/lieberman/. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in life sciences, chemistry, biological physics, and related fields. Hands-on expertise and publication record in any (but not all!) of the following areas is also required: protein biochemistry (e.g. enzyme, binding assays, membrane proteins), biophysics (e.g. spectroscopy, kinetics of aggregation, AFM imaging), cell biology (e.g. mammalian cell culture, Western blotting), or structural biology (e.g. crystallography, SAXS, SEC-MALS, NMR). Experience with molecular biology, protein expression and purification are also desirable. To be considered for a position, please send an email to Raquel Lieberman, raquel.lieber...@chemistry.gatech.edu<mailto:raquel.lieber...@chemistry.gatech.edu>. Include your curriculum vitae as well as a short cover letter describing research experience, and why you think you would be a good fit for our research team. Georgia Institute of Technology is a top public university in the USA located in the urban heart of Atlanta, GA. Georgia Tech is committed to recruiting, developing, retaining, and engaging a diverse cadre of students, faculty, and staff with a wide variety of backgrounds, perspectives, interests, and talents.
