An NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Conn lab in 
the Department of Biochemistry at Emory University School of Medicine in 
Atlanta, GA. This position will be part of our on-going studies of regulation 
of innate immune proteins by viral and cellular non-coding RNAs in 
collaboration with Dr. Anice Lowen’s group (in Microbiology and Immunology at 
Emory), with specific focus on the oligoadenylate synthetase (OAS)/ RNase L 
pathway. The ideal candidate will have a recent PhD with experience in 
macromolecular X-ray crystallography; additional skills in molecular biology, 
protein expression/ purification, other biochemical or biophysical approaches 
(e.g. mass spectrometry, HDX-MS) and/ or working with RNA would also be an 
advantage. Candidates with demonstrated success in these or closely related 
areas and a strong commitment to learning X-ray crystallography will also be 
considered.
