Vertex Pharmaceuticals (Europe) Ltd has an immediate opening for a talented computational scientist in the Structural Biology and Biophysics group at our Research UK site in Oxfordshire. The position is for 18 m fixed-term contract and the major role of the person will be to develop and support the group’s computing environment for solving Cryo-EM structures. This includes supporting deployment of computational workflows and scientific data analysis on our high-performance computing environment and working with scientists to develop and optimize custom solutions for data analysis and processing. The position requires a broad background in computational/data science or related discipline with at least three years experience working with large scientific data sets. The successful candidate will help drive the computational aspects of Cryo-EM data that are associated with going from protein to structure. Part of the role will include process optimization and dealing with emerging technologies.
