*Postdoctoral position in Structure and Function of Sugar Transporting Membrane Proteins*
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated postdoc with an interest in working on sugar transporting membrane transporters and with a proven track record in the area of structural and/or functional analysis of membrane proteins. The position is funded from the ERC intially as a one year position. An extension can be possible for up to a total maximum of 4 years employment as a postdoc. The position will be open from fall 2017. *The position* The position seeks to strengthen ongoing activities in the laboratory of Assistant Professor Bjørn Panyella Pedersen, related to the function and mechanism of sugar-transporting membrane proteins (mbg.au.dk/bpp). Experience with membrane protein expression and purification, in particular from *S. cereviciae* is favored, and the candidate must demonstrate an ability and interest to work with membrane proteins with a structural aim. Finally, applicants should be ambitious, show strong collaborative skills, and should also be able to take initiatives and responsibility within the work environment. *The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics* The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics is part of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Aarhus University and comprises research within the areas Molecular Medicine, Structural Biology, Systems Biology, Plant Molecular Biology and Quantitative Genetics. There are currently 220 full time scientific staff and 140 PhD students. The department is responsible for two educations: Molecular Biology and Molecular Medicine with yearly uptake of 160 students in total.
