Postdoctoral Fellow Position Rutgers School ofDental Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, is currentlyseeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for Parashar laboratory at Department of Oral Biology. The successfulcandidate will be responsible for performing in the structure-function studiesof proteins regulating bacterial signaling. Qualifications:· Ph.D. in Biochemistry,Molecular Biology, Structural Biology, or a related field· Experience withcloning, protein expression, and protein purification methods· A soundunderstanding of methods and approaches relating to macromolecularcrystallography preferred· Ability to plan andcarry out research projects independently· Ability to work onown initiative and take personal responsibility for delivery of work· Excellent problemsolving, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills· A working knowledgeof bacterial genetics and computational modeling of protein-ligand interactionspreferred Responsibilities include:· Performing experimentsfor cloning, protein expression, and purification of proteins for biochemicaland structural studies; robotic screens for crystallization; optimizingcrystallization conditions; and collecting and analyzing diffraction data.· Performing modelbuilding and structure refinement.· Maintaininglaboratory equipment to meet unique needs of the research activity· Assisting withpreparation of grant proposals, presentations and publications· Actively seekingnew collaborative projects within the department and externally The RutgersUniversity Newark campus is well equipped with state-of-the-art equipment formolecular biology, protein purification, and crystallography, includingcrystallization robot, crystal imaging system, and X-ray generator.
