Ooops, that is indeed a nice deal for this older model (or is this a
return/refurbished model?) but in some way overkill as you can get the
Quadro 5000 (150 watt, single 6-pin) at half the price and that will do
just more than fine.
Anyway, the 6000 will work under Linux all right (just make really sure
to download and install the drivers directly from Nvidia as they are not
part of standard linux distributions). But, the card is really very big
( 4.376” H x 9.75” L / Dual Slot) and consummes 205 watts (via single
8-pin or dual 6-pin) and produces a lot (!) of heat. So you do need a
big enough power supply (> 550 watt) and a large case with 1-2
additional cooling fans to keep the "monster" under control.
