Hello,

We would like to additionally post the following ad for a postdoc:

Postdoctoral Position Available

Laboratory of Robert Stroud

Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics

University of California San Francisco, USA

*SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:*

The laboratory of Robert Stroud at the University of California – San
Francisco is seeking a postdoctoral researcher for membrane protein
crystallography and small molecule screening. The position involves working
on a key lipid biosynthesis enzyme to identify new antifungal compounds
both *in vitro *and *in silico* as well as the structure determination of
novel membrane proteins in these pathways. The project involves use of the
X-ray free electron laser facility at Linear Coherent Light Source (LCLS)
at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC), to develop new time
resolved techniques to follow reaction intermediates through a reaction
cycle on a structural level.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology,
structural biology or a related field. Prior experience with
crystallography, membrane protein purification, or *in silico *molecular
screening is desirable. Key aspects include:

- Membrane protein purification and crystallography

- Work with small molecule binding software to identify potential
small molecule inhibitors

- Prepare and test new ultrafast diffraction approaches using an
x-ray free electron laser

*START DATE:* Immediately

*APPLICATION:*

Please send (1) your CV (2) your resume, describing your relevant

skills (3) a list of three references to: stroud...@gmail.com

Please put *“Crystallography and Small Molecule Screening Postdoctoral
Researcher”* in the subject line of your email.

 Thank you.
