Dear Shankar,
I once got crystals with Ethylene glycol as precipitant but at low
concentration (8-14%) and there always had been spots right from the beginning.
It sometimes happens that you get nice looking crystals but they do not
diffract. If you have hits from other conditions may be you should try to
improve these. From the mentioned case I got several conditions but all
contained different types of alcohol like MPD, iso-Propanol, Ethanol so I would
assume there is a chance you might find a different crystal form among these
precipitants.
In my case the final trick was to add a cofactor which dramatically changed the
crystallization conditions and crystal quality.
Good luck,
Ulrike
