Location UK, Cambridge Job Description A Position has become available for a highly skilled Computational Biologist to join our Structural Bioinformatics team. Supporting both Research and Development projects the team plays a crucial role in exploring structural and functional properties of proteins of therapeutic interest. As part of the wider Protein Sciences team, core responsibilities will include... - Protein structure visualisation and analysis - Computational structural biology - Antibody design - Protein modelling, docking and use of computational/visualisation tools including Accelrys Discovery Studio and PyMol. You will respond to project related queries and deliver information to a matrix of teams as requested. The successful candidate must be motivated, capable of working independently and enjoy working in a collaborative setting. Essential to our success is our consultative approach when constructing a project plan and progressing to experimental design. Position Requirements Key Experiences will include... - Strong Practical experience in current biologics computational & structural biology techniques. The role is computationally based. - Experience of using and applying molecular modelling, protein docking and molecular dynamics simulations in Discovery Studio and PyMol software platforms. - Experience of in silico antibody design, building antibody and antigen homology models, performing protein-protein docking, scoring and protein complex analysis. - Structural analysis of data to extract key findings and conclusions is essential. - Interacting with project teams and key customers/stakeholders. - Recording and conducting work according to current codes of practice (e.g. lab book recording and health and safety legislation). - Experience in biopharmaceutical setting or a post-doctoral research experience would be advantageous. - Knowledge of and ability to work with/maintain Linux operating systems would be advantageous.
