EMBL is seeking to recruit a postdoctoral researcher to join the group of Daniel Panne. EMBL is a leading international research organization with a collaborative atmosphere. We are seeking to recruit an outstanding candidate with a strong interest in structure determination. We focus on multi-protein complexes involved in signaling in the innate immune system and/or epigenetic gene regulation. The group applies ‘hybrid methods’ techniques, including low-resolution visualization such as electron microscopy and small angle X-ray scattering together with high-resolution imaging techniques such as macromolecular X-ray crystallography. The candidate should be a highly motivated individual who enjoys working as part of a collaborative and multidisciplinary team. For more information: http://www.embl.fr/research/unit/panne/index.html
Qualifications and Experience The successful applicant should hold a Ph.D. in structural biology or biochemistry. Previous experience in crystallization/X-ray crystallography is a strong advantage but not essential. We seek a motivated, enthusiastic and organised self-starter; one who can work independently but at the same time extract the benefits of an excellent research environment. The ability to independently take responsibility over his/her own project, as well as strong teamwork and communication skills, are required as well as reliability, attention to detail and effective time management. Motivation to work in a multidisciplinary and international environment is fundamental to this position. Good communication and presentation skills and fluency in English are expected.
