The NIBR Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowships provide scientists with a unique opportunity to conduct innovative, interdisciplinary basic research in an industry setting. Presidential Fellows have a NIBR mentor and an academic mentor, and develop their projects in consultation with both mentors. PhD students in the last year of their doctoral research, as well as postdoctoral fellows with fewer than two years of research experience past their PhD, are eligible to apply. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. All fellowships are for a three-year term. Membrane Protein Postdoctoral Fellowships in the Center for Proteomic Chemistry, Cambridge, MA We are currently seeking candidates for two membrane protein structural biology postdoctoral positions in the laboratories of Ian Hunt and Timothy E. Benson, specifically to be focused furthering our understanding of pharmaceutically relevant human ion channels targets. Candidates should have a high interest in biochemical, biophysical and structural investigation of ion channels and its applicability to the drug discovery process. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a matrix driven organization. The successful candidate will conduct research alongside a dynamic team of researchers leveraging structural and biophysical studies of protein-ligand complexes to impact early drug discovery. Prior experience required in protein expression (insect cell, mammalian, yeast), protein purification, and/or protein structure (crystallization, data collection, structure determination). Experience with membrane proteins, biophysical characterization of protein-ligand complexes (e.g. SPR, DSF), and/or electrophysiology would be a significant plus.
