A two years industry funded Postdoctoral position is available in my group
http://www.utmb.edu/ncb/faculty/Stoilova-McPhieSvetla.asp to study the
structure of coagulation factor VIII in complexes by Cryo-electron microscopy.
The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and have a postdoctoral degree
in life sciences and macromolecular structure determination. Experience with
Linux computing systems and programming will be an advantage.
Candidate who have obtained recently their PhD and would like to learn Cryo-EM
and structure analysis are also encouraged to apply, as full training will be
given.
The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and its Sealy Center for
Structural Biology and Molecular Biophysics are fully equipped for state of the
art structure determination of macromolecular complexes by Cryo-EM:
http://www.scsb.utmb.edu/facilities/cryoem.htm. UTMB is part of the Gulf Coast
Consortium: http://cohesion.rice.edu/centersandinst/gcc/ where access to 300kV
Cryo-EM microscopes and additional computing recourses are available.
Interested candidates should send a CV including areas of expertise and
interests, publications list, and names and contact for 3 references to
svmcp...@utmb.edu.
UTMB is an equal importunity employer and the postdoctoral salary will be
according the NIH standard scales for postdoctoral fellows:
http://grants2.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-10-047.html
commensurate with experience and UTMB regulations.
