But there is no better way to accumulate wisdom than having children...And certain types of wisdom are *only* accessible through having children! Then again, I have always wondered why most of the authors of the western classics were bachelors--weren't they missing a whole, major facet of life experience? I guess they just had more time on their hands to write and think, although I think JS Bach had about 20 children with two wives, if I recall correctly, and the BWV's nevertheless go up to 1126!
