A postdoctoral position in crystallography is available in the group of Dr. Nicolas Thomä at the Friedrich Miescher Institute (FMI) for Biomedical Research in Basel, Switzerland. The group studies macromolecular machines involved in genome maintenance (see Scrima et al, Cell 2008) and protein complexes serving as epigenetic regulators. Training in expression and purification of multi-subunit complexes from insect cells will be provided. Previous experience in crystallography and phasing techniques are essential. State of the art instrumentation for crystallography and high-throughput protein expression is provided in conjunction with the recently established FMI Protein Structure Facility.
Salary and benefits will be competitive. We offer an initial 3 year contract, with the possibility of further extension.
