Hi Rui, to get it work, I would make sure that I have the last version of X-code tools, and update X-quartz with the last version 2.4.0, you can download it here: http://xquartz.macosforge.org/trac/wiki I would also update fink and the source list which are different for Intel and PPC: check Bill's webpage http://sage.ucsc.edu/~wgscott/xtal/wiki/index.php/Getting_your_fink_installation_to_use_packages_that_I_have_pre-compiled http://sage.ucsc.edu/~wgscott/xtal/wiki/index.php/Sources.list_for_10.5_intel_only
And then reinstall coot via fink, and it should work: http://sage.ucsc.edu/~wgscott/xtal/wiki/index.php/Installing_Coot_on_OS_X Good luck, pierre Pierre Aller Ph.D. Postdoctoral Associate University of Vermont 201 Stafford Hall 95 Carrigan drive Burlington, VT 05405-0084 On Wed, 28 Oct 2009 13:13:29 -0400, rui <ruis...@gmail.com> wrote: >Hi All, > >I got a mac pro 10.5.8 and transferred all the programs from my old mac ( >ppc ), now when I tried to run coot, it will start and crash with the >following error message: > >Reading coordinate file: /sw/share/coot/standard-residues.pdb > PDB file /sw/share/coot/standard-residues.pdb has been read. >Spacegroup: P 1 >Cell: 40.631 109.18 93.243 90 90 90 >Gdk-ERROR **: BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation) > serial 97 error_code 1 request_code 128 minor_code 1 > >Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
