Dear All, this is a request for opinion, relevant to HTPX operators such as PSI centers, other large crystallography centers, or pharma HTP pipelines. It is not really CCP4 related, so response perhaps directly to me to avoid clutter.
We are making good progress on the robotic crystal harvesting, and presently hyperquenching is implemented. So far the pins are placed into intermediate storage pucks suitable for shipping, but not designed with any particular robotic mounting system in mind. The question arises whether HTPX operators prefer to rearray - or have the option to rearray - the samples from shipping pucks themselves or rather have their own specific pucks loaded. For example, JCSG I assume would like to have their samples placed directly into the SSRL SAM containers. I therefore would like to hear off-board from those interested in harvesting robotics and solicit their opinion for further discussion/collaboration.
