On behalf of Prof. S.X. Lin:

Postdoctoral and graduate positions are available at Laval University Hospital Research Center, for the study of structural biology and function of important enzymes. These include sex steroid synthesizing enzymes involved in breast and prostate cancers, as well as proteins with critical function in neuro-endocrinology. The new projects are supported by Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Crystallography and enzymology back grounds are highly welcome. Since the determination of the first human steroid enzyme structure, the type 1 17beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase, we have determined a series of steroid enzyme structures, resulting in leads for the cancer therapy. Expertise in crystallizing membrane and hydrophobic proteins, the use of crystallizability study, and enzymology are available in the laboratory, with state-of-the-art facilities. Quebec City, with its original European style, is alongside the St. Laurence river, providing an excellent research environment.

For those who are interested in the above projects, please send your C.V. to sx...@crchul.ulaval.ca
