Hello,

The 2008 "Quo Vadis Structural Biology?" Symposium was well received with over 250 participants. We are happy to announce that we decided to repeat the event in 2009, with a revised format. First, we relocated to the Countway Library - a smaller, more affordable venue in the very center of the Harvard Medical School Campus. In addition the event has been renamed the SBGrid Computing School, which better reflects the nature of our annual summit.

The 2009 SBGrid Computing School will offer three (3) Nanocourses:

1. Python Programming for Scientists
2. OS X Programming Tools
3. Data Visualization with Maya

Nanocourses will offer an intensive two-day training and will be concluded by a take-home assignment. Participants who successfully complete a nanocourse will receive a certificate. Please Note: You can only take one (1) of the three (3) nanocourses being offered (nanocourses will run concurrently).

In addition to the nanocourses we will also offer several lecture and workshop sessions:

1. Software Showcase Session- Will feature a keynote presentation by Frank Delaglio (Pymol). 2. Quo Vadis Structural Biology? Session- Will include presentations by members of the SBGrid consortium:
        -Anna Pyle from Yale University
-Dinshaw Patel from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center
        -Brandt Eichman from Vanderbilt University

We will also have four (4) Super-Tutorials Sessions:

1. Phenix
2. CCP4
3. SHARP
4. NMR for Crystallographers

Please Note: You can take all four Super-Tutorials! Invited speakers (TBA) will present at each Super-Tutorial Session.

Registration is now open; the SBGrid Computing School will be limited to 95 participants. Nanocourses and Workshops are limited to 25 participants each session; we expect most sessions to sell out soon!

Please visit the SBGrid Computing School website at http://school.sbgrid.org to register.
