POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN STRUCTURAL BIOLOGY

Job Description:
Highly motivated postdoctoral candidates are invited to apply for a position at the EMBL Grenoble Outstation, France. We focus on the Structure and Function of higher eukaryotic macromolecular assemblies with emphasis on systems involved in Cancer, Inflammation and Innate Immunity. Furthermore, we are interested in how viruses interfere in processing of cellular signaling pathways and thereby inhibit the innate immune system.

The EMBL Grenoble Outstation offers a challenging and stimulating atmosphere and is located at one of Europe’s most vibrant structural biology communities including the European Synchroton Radiation Facility (ESRF), the Laue Langevin Institute (ILL) and the Structural Biology Institute (IBS). The Partnership for Structural Biology (http://psb.esrf.fr/index.html) gives access to all the major structural biology techniques (synchrotron X-ray and neutron crystallography and small angle scattering, cryo-EM, high-field NMR and robotic protein expression screening and crystallization) as well as molecular and cell biology.

Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate should have experience in molecular biology and biochemistry or X-ray crystallography, crystallographic software and programming Furthermore the incumbent is a team player, with a sense of initiative and responsibility, and is fluent in English.

Contract: An initial contract of 1 year will be offered to the successful candidate. This can be renewed, depending on circumstances at the time of review.
