Proffice is now looking for a PhD in Protein Crystallography for a 12 months
temporary position at the Global Structural Chemistry Laboratory at AstraZeneca
R&D Mölndal, Sweden.

The Global Structural Chemistry Laboratory in Mölndal is a centre of excellence
supporting the AstraZeneca discovery organizations in Sweden, UK and US. The
main mission is to provide and promote the use of protein structural
information in the drug design process with an increasing focus on assisting
the lead discovery process.

The laboratory has now around 45 scientists engaged in experimental research
and the core disciplines are protein engineering, NMR spectroscopy and protein
crystallography. A temporary position as a protein crystallographer is
currently available within the crystallography group. The position requires
enthusiasm, flexibility and a natural talent to interact in a team as well as
the ability to communicate effectively.

Protein Crystallographer - Mölndal

We are immediately looking for a PhD with hands on experience of protein
crystallography. The temporary position will be placed in the crystallography
group at the Structural Chemistry Laboratory at AstraZeneca R&D Mölndal,
Sweden. The protein crystallography capability currently employs a team of 9
full-time crystallographers and a crystallisation team with 5 scientists. The
lab is excellently equipped with state of the art equipment.

The successful candidate will work in direct support of one of our therapeutic
areas. It's an excellent opportunity for a structural scientist to gain
experience from the international and multidisciplinary environment within one
of the worlds leading pharmaceutical companies.

The candidate will mainly be involved in the support of structure-based
drug-design projects. The candidate should therefore have a strong genuine
interest in and experience from studying molecular interactions by
crystallography preferentially in a pharmaceutical environment. Experience from
synchrotron and computational work and an organized working-practice are
strictly necessary requirements. A background in organic chemistry,
biochemistry or biophysics is advantageous.
