Hi
Is anybody aware of a particular bug in the S train relating to this or
maybe a specific order of operations that should be carried out to
ensure these sessions come up successfully every time?
I have had a mixed bag of problems but mostly I end up with 'LDP Id:
80.0.100.8:0; no host route to transport addr' or similar, when all the
configuration is interface based with the correct transport addresses
defined. Whenever I have this issue and remove the per-neighbour
password config the problem goes away and the session comes up.
The logging is mostly:
00:01:57: %TCP-6-BADAUTH: No MD5 digest from 80.0.100.8(22874) to
80.0.100.6(646)
And once the password config is removed:
00:03:02: %LDP-5-NBRCHG: LDP Neighbor (vrf SP1000) 60.60.60.60:0 (3) is
UP
R8(config)#do sh mpls ldp disc vrf SP1000
Local LDP Identifier:
80.0.100.8:0
Discovery Sources:
Interfaces:
FastEthernet0/0.806 (ldp): xmit/recv
LDP Id: 60.60.60.60:0; IP addr: 80.0.100.6; no host route
<- This session is actually up
Does anybody know exactly what LDP is trying do when it 'looks up the
remote transport address'? Is it something other than a unicast RIB
lookup?
Here is some example config from SP labs/Section05 (R6-R8):
