Hi guys,

A pretty strange problem i face with multicast, I have a setup which is R2, R4,
R3 and R6 connected to each other (mesh). These routers are in As 12. Here R2
is a IPv4 RR and R3 is a VPNv4 RR.
Another AS is 45 and 2 routers, that is R8 and R9 connected to each other on
Ehternet. Everybody is running MPLS, IPv4, vpn v4 etc required for MPLS
scenarios.

R8 is connected to R2 and R9 is connected to R3 and running mpebgp and ipv4 bgp
between them using option 2 inter-as.

R6 and R4 and R2 have a vrf example vrf A, they all can ping each other. Now I
was trying to run multicast.

All router in As 12 run Pim BSr with R2 as RP and As 45 runs pim BSr with R8 as
RP.

There is msdp, pim, bgp multicast running between R2 and R4, that’s it. No pim
and msdp between R9 and R3.

Now I do Multicast VPN, I see my tunnel between R6 and R4. But the tunnel with
R2 doesn’t get established (to be clear, I run sh ip pim vrf a neigh and I see
no tunnel with R2). The weird thing to look here is, when I say sh ip int brief
in R2, the tunnel 0 interface has an ip address of the directly connected
interface which is connected with R8.

I have tried this earlier with Inter-as option 3, and I don’t think it should
have any relation with Inter-as option2.

This multicast vpn doesn’t work at all. Guys please check and let me know if
there is any answer to it.
