Greetings.
I'm kinda stuck in active now... i'm trying to figureout which are the
differences between Routers 7600 and Catalyst 6500/6800 and i can not find
any document who explain the main or minor differences.
i could find the RSP720 it's a big difference against SUP720, but now both
platforms switch and routers could support SUP 2T Supervisor.
the problem starts when a friend ask for help to choice the best equipment
for their company, and in this time i say "mmm, let me see".
The company on my friends works need..
3 internet links 4Gig each (using 10gig interface).
Full BGP Internet Table on each internet link
load balance internet traffic as it's can, but bring full wan redundancy
bring internet access to the company with static prefixes of public routing
segments for each department.
in conclusion, the idea is create an small ISP for their internal resources
allocation, and better resilency and bandwidth allocation with policies,
and create traffic clasification to bring better services and resources to
especified servers like internet public webservers.
as i get, in tech terms.
2 core Switch or Routers, (resilency and redundancy)
2 blades of 8x10 gig ports (one by chassis)
6 wan interfaces 2 by each internet link (3 interfaces by each device)
4 lan interfaces 2 by each device facing lan pushing vlans with /27 or
/26 depending of the requirement of the department.
That's correct?
Marko, what do you think about this?
best regards
