Hi All I wanted to start posting here as I work through the workbooks to ask some questions and provide some feedback. I just completed Lab 3 of Volume 2 and made the following observations:
Potential spoilers if you haven't completed this Lab: 1) Task 3.4 Why would you filter inbound to R9? It only says to make sure R6 saw 4.0.0.0/7 and the 5.x.x.x routes which fall under 4.0.0.0/7. This would be achieved with a summary + leak-map which you included anyway. 2) Task 4.3 states to configure R6 as the primary for paths to AS 111 use R5 as backup, other paths should use R5 as primary and use R6 as backup. I could only think of doing this with an as-path access-list but you did not allow that in the task yet the solution was just to mark routes in from R6 as a higher than default local-preference which would make R6 primary for all upstream paths (AS 112, 111 and 3550) 3) Task 6.2 Send logging for specific messages - solution was to lookup the specific messages - can you tell me where I would find these on the DocCD? 4) Task 7.3 would be better completed with "include-connected" in the redistribution commands, however, as I found out the hard way there is a Cisco bug and "include-connected" with the EIGRPv3 process into other processes or another process into EIGRPv3 does not work. An FYI for anyone else struggling with this. 5) Task 10.1 The task wording sounded like it needed specific route-targets configuring so the routing would be spoke to hub rather than any to any but when I checked the solution guide the same RT was used for import and export on all PE's. I checked and this was ok but only because the vpnv4 AF was not configured as a route-reflector on R4, only the ipv4 AF.
