Hi Marc,

The 1000v and 1010 give you a Cisco'ized version of the Vswitch. All the
cool things that can be done on a 3560/3750 are now available to VM Guests.
(Minus L3 functionality and a few other features). So SPAN and RSPAN can be
done from the 1000v. You also have MQC and real queue's. Port-profile's are
a huge time saver. Private VLans to keep hosts on the same broadcast domain
from talking to each other ...etc

We have 100's of these deployed in the network and love them so far. They
give the network side of the house much more granular control of the VM's
at the guest level.
