Hi, Of course that I dont mind to reply you!
I work with telecom networks for almost ten years (mainly, but not 100%, with Cisco). I got my CCNP, CCDP and CCIP six years ago and then, I stopped to study cisco certifications. two years ago, I started to teach training CCNP courses in an academy in my country (when I finished to my regular day-job). To prepare this training course, I studied all the topics of these blueprints to can explain clearly all the contents and be able to resolve the doubts that students may have. For this reason, I have a very solid theory about all this topics (L2/L3 technologies, multicast and security). One year ago I decided to prepare to CCIE and I began to study all the topics that I never viewed (for instance OER/PfR, FrameRelay, some topics about security, system management, several router services. For these topics, I use cisco documentation, IPexpert BLS with VOD and workbooks and other vendors videos and workbooks. For this topics, I needed to study and understand the technology, protocols. I worked with Cisco press books and Cisco website to did that. After that, I did several simulation to practice the knowledge that I'd learnt to consolidate the topics. I started to make labs (firstly, technology focus and secondly exam simulations like workbook 2 and 3 of IPX) and the final step was to understand the type of exam and make my strategy of time management. For labs, I recommend you to rent racks (in proctorlabs or other providers) because you save a lot of time due to config utility that they have or to set up your own laboratory (I used rented racks, own laboratory and GNS3/dynamics). Of course...you need a lot of time....and you can fail when you will go to the exam (I did in my first attempt) but if you prepare well, you will pass!! If you need more advice, let me know!
