Are you using SNMP based management software to monitor it?

SNMP walks can hammer a CPU.

Is this is what is happening then create an SNMP view to limit what is
actually gathered by the management station to only the data that is
actually needed - (a very very small fraction of the overall MIB tree)

Subject: [OSL | CCIE_RS] strange behaviour of Cisco router

Hi All,

We are using 1811 router for our customers and 1 of 1811 is showing a
very
strange behavior.

The router is peaking upto 100% cpu utilisation once or twice a week
even
though traffic is few kbps.

Any Idea of how to resolve it?
