Traffic does not have to pass through the MC. MC only needs to be
reachable to/from the BRs. MC controls traffic by having the BRs inject
static routes or manipulating BGP. 

At least those are the basics as I understand it ... it's not exactly an
easy thing to play with in a lab environment.

With OER/PFR the packet actually has to PASS through the Master
Controller?
Also, lets assume if the packet doesn't has to and the whole domain is
running some dynamic routing protocol ... how can we the Master
Controller
to basically manipualte the route changes for routers that don't have to
send the packet through to the MC to get to the destination?
