Traffic does not have to pass through the MC. MC only needs to be reachable to/from the BRs. MC controls traffic by having the BRs inject static routes or manipulating BGP.
At least those are the basics as I understand it ... it's not exactly an easy thing to play with in a lab environment. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Samir Idris Sent: Friday, October 28, 2011 8:45 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [OSL | CCIE_RS] OER Hi, With OER/PFR the packet actually has to PASS through the Master Controller? Also, lets assume if the packet doesn't has to and the whole domain is running some dynamic routing protocol ... how can we the Master Controller to basically manipualte the route changes for routers that don't have to send the packet through to the MC to get to the destination?
