In the past I have seen some requirements to make sure that your ether-channel always accurately measures (or perhaps reports) the correct bandwidth. I can't remember the answer to this.
If we apply the bandwidth of the sum to the ether channel itself this would cause a problem if one of the links failed. If we apply the bandwidth to each member link will the ether channel inherit it?
