Looking at your response again, would it really make a difference if I trunk
the access VLAN (37) between the distribution switches even though VLAN 37
only exist on that access switch. If the access switch is down the entire
subnet is down. Can someone please clarify?

connectivity issues (unless you have another access switch passing VLAN 37
