ios 12.4, Security config guide, securing the data plane, configuring ips section lists details on which ips signatures detect nimda and why/how. Guessed securing the data plane would be a good spot to start, then did a browser find for 'nimda' on the subsections till the ips sig table started returning results. Actually has info on a number of well known virii.

I know where to find the doc to block Code Red traffic, but how the heck am I supposed to know where to find details about NIMDA? Ultimately, I Googled it, and found a link that took me to a 12.2 config example note, but when I tried to find my way back to that page, starting from the Cisco Product/Technology Support page, I could never find it. At the very least, what topic should I look under for this? QOS and Security took me nowhere... _______________________________________________ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com
