Wow, that one is entirely mean, after that I am wondering how many
other hidden commands are potentially out there that can kill points on the
exam!!!

Group,

In volume 3 Mock Lab 1 Task 2.2 you are asked to setup a frame-relay
connection between router 4 and 5 using PPP over frame-relay. Utilizing
PPP over frame-relay implies that the configuration will use the
virtual-template configuration to accomplish the task, no problem.

I setup the Virtual-template 1 interface and assigned the IP and associated
parameters to setup PPP authentication/chap, but one of the requirements is to
have both sides use the username of T3ST123. I noticed that under the
virtual-template interface that you can use the “ppp chap hostname” command to
setup the hostname as in typical chap authentication your hostname is the
remote hostname and a password that matches on each end. OK, no problem so I
setup the hostname on both sides under the virtual-template interface as
T3ST123 and then in global configuration setup “username T3ST123 password
pppove...@m3.

The issue is, if you do this on both sides, the router thinks it’s talking
to itself and in the debugs it ignores the PPP request. So my question is, how
do you get both sides to use the same username for authentication?
