When I was at Aurora looking at 2 Glaucous Gulls on Monday (pointed out to me by Gary Kohlenberg) there were 2 Trumpeter Swans resting on the ice next to the lake. One was tagged so I reported the number to a banding lab. Surprisingly, I heard back from them today, telling me it was banded on 2/24/2013 at Lasalle Park, Burlington, Ontario. The bird was hatched in 2010 or earlier. So if you see a banded bird and you can read the number, report it to the proper authorities so they can keep track of it. Maybe you'll find a bird from some exotic place! Best, Ann
