I spent my lunch time today going up to the vicinity of the Yacht club in the hope of finally seeing the Tufted Duck, and was not disappointed, finding it to the North by the ice edge among Scaup and Redhead.

Other species of interest were four Wood Ducks, about 8 Red-breasted Mergansers, and a Common Loon.

Sadly I counted about five dead birds, some on the ice and some on the water. It's a pity that they made it all the way through the cold of February only to expire just as the weather is improving.
