I haven't seen any mention of them at the airport yet this year, but I had 2 SNOWY OWLS at the Syracuse (Hancock) airport yesterday, just after noon. I had hoped to see one from my airplane as we taxied in, but had to settle for making a circuit of the side roads after I got my car back.
One very heavily-marked individual was on the ground west and south of the terminal, visible from the overflow lot area. The other owl was paler and more lightly marked, but still had substantial markings. It was visible directly east from the airport hotel parking lot. Also, a MERLIN greeted my arrival by perching on a light just outside the west-most baggage claim while I was waiting for my luggage. Kevin Kevin J.
