I was out trying to photograph wild turkeys in a friends woods just south of Corning. Among the small birds was a golden-crowned kinglet. It was so close, 3 feet, that I could not focus on it. I watched it probe the small branches on the hemlock I was next to. I heard a few "seep" voices above, so I suspect there was at least on other. Isn't this very late to be seeing these?
No luck on the turkeys, so this softened my disappointment on the turkeys.
